Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Candidate shall possess a general electrical engineering background and an understanding of analog and digital electronics. This position requires basic knowledge of electrical and electronic system design. Candidate shall possess the skills needed to write test procedures and review test data to ensure that hardware is operating properly and passes all tests. Duties will require daily contact with space launch vehicle hardware and solid rocket motors. Candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and for guiding and mentoring less senior staff in the final system-level integration and test of air launched and ground launched target vehicles. Specific duties may include: contribute to the development of detailed work instructions, processes and procedures directing the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems, ensuring consistent application of assembly processes and philosophies across all products; coordinate test activities and schedules with operations supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations; document hardware defects and test anomalies, and develop and implement robust and effective corrective actions; identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and participate in implementation; support launch operations, as required. Ability to write in clear technical terms, and good interpersonal skills required as well as the ability to communicate with other operations support groups including quality, safety, technicians, logistics, system administrators, security etc. Knowledge of standard PC application software is required. Occasional business travel may be required. The position will require knowledge of electrical system level troubleshooting of flight and ground support equipment. Either previous electrical design experience and/or electrical system level test experience is required. Previous mission/launch support is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
Education or Experience9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
Salary Range: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
