Join our elite team and play a pivotal role in securing the future of space operations! We are on the lookout for an exceptional candidate to bolster the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) - Threat Assessment Division (TAD), operating in the strategic locations of Colorado Springs, CO, and Reston, VA.
As a member of our team, you will be the driving force behind the technical analysis, characterization, and evaluation of threats posed by adversaries to U.S. operations within the ever-critical space domain. Your role will be to unravel the complexities of threat architectures, system functions, operational environments, and dependencies by skillfully integrating data from various sources, including intelligence. This will empower you to identify critical limitations, vulnerabilities, and, most importantly, opportunities for mitigation.
In your day-to-day tasks, you will find yourself:
Crafting and executing Target Systems Analysis (TSA), Critical Factors Analysis (CFA), and Center of Gravity (CoG) Analysis, wielding system data derived from intelligence, internal studies, and sophisticated threat models. Your mission: to dissect threats into their fundamental components, meticulously assess, compare, and rank systems, functions, and nodes based on the potential impacts of actions aimed at disruption or destruction. Furthermore, your analytical prowess will extend to quantifying and comparing implications for mitigation strategies, underpinning key recommendations for advancing U.S. protection initiatives.
Becoming a vital cog in a well-coordinated machine, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of intelligence experts, scientific and technical gurus, and dedicated researchers. Together, you will standardize and synchronize CFA efforts within our division while contributing to collaborative efforts with external partners, ensuring that the collective mission is executed with precision.
Key Responsibilities, More than a Job Description:
Embrace full-time on-site engagement to immerse yourself in the world of space security.
Lead the development, coordination, execution, and continuous refinement of critical factors analysis processes and templates that drive excellence across the entire division.
Dive into the intricacies of TSA, CFA, and CoG analysis, offering profound insights into adversary space systems, capabilities, forces, and operations.
Champion system and architecture decomposition and target analysis activities to safeguard the critical assets in the cosmos.
Lead TSA Working Groups, sharing your invaluable subject matter expertise on analytic processes and methodologies.
Finally, utilize your formidable communication skills to produce compelling written reports. Your reports will not only compare and contrast attack surfaces but also offer strategic options that bolster the protection of U.S. space systems and services, reinforcing our nation's position in space.
Qualifications - Chart Your Path to Excellence:
Requirements:
Proudly bear the title of a U.S. citizen.
Possess a coveted active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility, with an added bonus if you already hold a polygraph.

Alternatively, you can bring equivalent work experience to the table. A technical degree is a preferred asset. A minimum of nine years of total experience is required.
Have between 3 and 10 years of experience, with an emphasis on TSA, CFA, and CoG analysis. Your experience should shine, especially in analyzing adversary weapon system architectures and kill chains.
Cultivate a deep well of knowledge with 3 - 10 years of experience in space architecture design and vulnerability analysis. Even better, if a portion of this experience falls within the last two years.
Flaunt your ability to lead dynamic, cross-domain technical teams, including Intelligence Researchers, Domain Subject Matter Experts, and Technical Engineers.
Prove your mettle by showcasing your ability to define problems, oversee studies, and orchestrate surveys that collect and analyze data to offer game-changing advice and recommend innovative solutions.
