Raytheon Digital Technology (DT) is seeking an experienced Industry 4.0 architect to lead the creation and implementation of a variety of critical factory solutions. The
Digital Architect for Factory Solutions ("
Architect") is a senior individual contributor in the Architecture (EA) organization of the Information Technology function of Raytheon and reports to the Director of Enterprise Architecture.
The Factory Digital Architect (i4.0) is a member of a talented Architecture team with expertise in formal architecture practices and a wide range of technical skills across all IT domains. Candidates for this role should be comfortable operating in all architecture domains (enterprise, business, domain, and solution), at various times, to successfully guide the delivery of high value digital products that address critical business needs. You will support the Operations and Supply Chain function and lead the delivery of advanced Industry 4.0 capabilities in partnership with our Operations Product Manager. Together, you will establish the vision and tactics and oversee implementation of digital solutions that advance Raytheon's manufacturing capabilities. This role is helping Raytheon transform the way we build our products that provide overmatch capabilities to United Sates warfighters who defend our country and democracy around the world.
What You Will Do:- Support the creation of the digital factory vision and associated digital manufacturing roadmap, aligned to business, corporate and DT strategies.
- Define and execute strategies for the deployment of IoT devices, sensors, and actuators to enable real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and DT, to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Define, document, and communicate Industry 4.0 solution architectures, aligned with architecture strategies and principles, that ensure integration of hardware, software, and communication protocols.
- Partner with data architects to design data architectures and pipelines for the collection, storage, processing, and analysis of large volumes of manufacturing data, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Implement edge computing solutions to enable real-time decision-making and reduce latency in mission-critical manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, to ensure the intended architecture is realized and best practices and standards were followed.
- Develop architecture artifacts associated with all phases of the TOGAF Architecture Development Method using Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Develop reusable patterns, building blocks, and reference implementations to standardize solutions and accelerate delivery.
- Conduct technology assessments, proof-of-concepts, and pilot projects to validate feasibility and demonstrate value proposition to stakeholders.
- Mentor others to elevate their technical abilities and prepare them to step into the role of a solution architect.
- Successful candidates must be able to travel up to 20% of the time to each of the major US Raytheon Factory Sites located in Andover, MA; McKinney, TX; and Tucson AZ. You may also travel to other smaller factor sites within Domestic Sites. Travel will average out to be 1-2 times per month.
- This role is a Fully onsite role that MUST be in one of the 3 major factory locations for Raytheon: Tucson, AZ, McKinney, TX, or Andover, MA. Relocation support will be offered if necessary. The role requires the work be done onsite on a full-time basis.

Qualifications You Must Have:- Typically requires bachelor's degree and minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or in lieu of a bachelor's degree minimum 14 years of prior relevant experience or associate degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in direct IT and Internet of Things (IoT) architecture experience.
- Experience architecting, designing, developing, and deploying enterprise grade Industry 4.0 solutions in manufacturing settings.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:- Strong critical thinking skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity.
- Experience with operational and information system technologies including industrial control systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), sensors, network, storage, compute, private cloud (i.e. VMware), and commercial cloud (i.e. AWS, Azure).
- Experience leading or working with virtual and geographically diverse teams.
- Experience with industrial communication and IIoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus)
- Direct experience with IIoT and industrial communications Software/Platforms (e.g. Inductive Automation Ignition, Kepware, Splunk, etc.) and programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Working knowledge of the ISA-95 / Purdue model how that applies to modern IIoT architecture.
- Experience creating a digital thread between engineering and manufacturing systems/platforms and integrating with SAP-based solutions.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
