Materials & Processes Engineer / Principal Materials & Processes - Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in
Melbourne, FL. The successful candidate should have substantial experience with ultrasonic non-destructive inspection methods with regards to composite materials or eddy current and penetrant inspection with regards to metallic materials.
In this role, you will be a part of an Integrated Product Team supporting production and new design releases. Our team is focused on supporting inspection development for large aircraft assemblies. Are you interested in working on state-of-the-art composites and metallics? Come join us!
Key responsibilities include:- Perform material inspections to identify flaws/defects
- Generate inspection plans, validation/verification plans & reports
- Analyze, research, design, and develop NDI processes to develop and optimize for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems
- May review and approve subcontractor material inspection procedures
- May travel to subcontractor locations
Position may be filled at the Engineer or Principal Engineer level depending on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:- For Engineer NDT (level 2): Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 2 years of related military/professional experience; OR Master's degree in a relevant discipline with 0 years of military/professional experience. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- For Principal Engineer NDT (level 3): Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 5 years of related military/professional experience; OR Master's degree in a relevant discipline with 3 years of military/professional experience. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in NDI
- Experience with performing Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) on composites
- Experience with performing Eddy Current and Penetrant Inspection on metallics
- Experience with repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures
- Experience with ultrasonic (UT) NDI methods with regards to composite materials
- Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline such as Materials Science
- Experience dispositioning engineering allowances in NDI
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
