Rockwell Collins awarded $10 Million dollar contract supporting F-35 Simulation Environment

20160328 Rockwell Collins Simulation and Training Solutions LLC, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $9,949,996 firm-fixed-price contract the procurement of 14 visual display systems (VDSs) in support of the F-35 Joint Simulation Environment Program.  These VDSs provide the simulated out-the-window imagery required by the F-35 aircraft simulator.  Work will be performed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is expected to be completed in December 2016.  Fiscal 2016 research, development test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $9,949,996 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was competitively procured via an electronic request for proposals, with two offers received.  The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is the contracting activity (N68335-16-C-0151).
