Responsibilities
Peraton seeks aData Scientist / Analystto supportDepartment of War Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with defensive cyberspace operations and AI support. Location: Fort Meade, MD. In this role, you will perform advanced statistical analysis, develop machine learning (ML) models, and conduct operational research to support cyber defense decision-making and threat characterization.Location: Fort Meade, MD. In this role, conduct data analysis, develop analytical models, and create visualizations to support DCDC mission requirements and cyber defense operations.Primary Responsibilities:Perform exploratory and diagnostic analyses to reveal trends and anomaliesDevelop and test ML models for threat detection and risk scoringCreate data visualizations and analytical reportsSupport data preparation, transformation, and quality assuranceCollaborate with data engineers on model operationalizationDocument analytical methods and findings
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with Ph.D. Will consider Associates degree and 10 years of experience or HS and 12 years of experience.Advanced proficiency in Python, R, SQLExperience with machine learning model development and deployment; experience with machine learning, algorithm analysis, and data clustering.Strong statistical analysis and hypothesis testing skillsExperience with data visualization and reportingRequires strong technical and computational skills - engineering, physics, mathematics, coupled with the ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques and utilizing high-performance computing environmentsU.S. Citizenship requiredDoD TS Clearance with ability to obtain/maintain SCIPreferred Qualifications:AWS/Azure certificationsDegree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fieldKnowledge of cyber defense operationsDoD TS SCI Clearance
