Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing laboratory operations, procedures, and record systems; 2) Measuring liquid and liquid transfers using laboratory equipment; 3) Maintaining sample identification and inventory control using manual methods or computer technology; and 4) Following laboratory requirements and standardized operational procedures. Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the positioN GS-05 level: Successful completion of a 4-year (120 semester hours) course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses directly related to the position (a) with major study in an appropriate field of physical science, or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as physical science, engineering, or any branch of mathematics, except financial and commercial mathematics. This education must be obtained at an accredited college or university. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
