A defense-focused technology firm is seeking a Linux DevOps Administrator to maintain, secure, and enhance mission-critical IT systems supporting classified operations. This hands-on role involves collaborating closely with developers and system engineers to troubleshoot complex issues, manage configurations, and ensure continuous system reliability in a high-availability environment.
Build, configure, and maintain secure Linux-based systems in support of mission operations.
Collaborate with engineering and development teams to diagnose and resolve system and performance issues.
Apply security hardening, user management, and patching procedures in alignment with DoD and IC standards.
Create and maintain custom RPM packages and scripts to automate recurring administrative tasks.
Manage network configurations, system monitoring, and performance tuning.
Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call rotation as needed.
Support limited travel for system installations or maintenance.
Operate in an onsite environment supporting active classified programs.
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 3+ years).
Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including patching, networking, and security hardening.
Experience with LDAP user management and system configuration control.
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
Current Security+ or CISSP certification.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs in support of hardware installation.
Experience with automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
Scripting experience using Bash and Python.
Familiarity with Windows system administration and AWS deployments.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
Salary range: $110K–$150K, depending on experience.
