A national defense contractor is seeking a Mission Operations Specialist to monitor and sustain real-time system operations supporting critical space and ground-based missions. This role requires strong situational awareness, system troubleshooting skills, and the ability to perform in a dynamic 24/7 operational environment.
Monitor and analyze mission system performance to ensure continuous operation.
Identify, troubleshoot, and correct system malfunctions while maintaining system health and readiness.
Collaborate closely with customers and teammates in a fast-paced, open operations environment.
Execute operational procedures and certifications related to ground terminal operations.
Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 mission coverage.
Utilize graphical and textual system interfaces to assess and respond to real-time mission events.
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience (or 8 years in lieu of degree; military experience accepted).
Ability to obtain and maintain system operation certifications.
Experience supporting Operational and Maintenance (O&M) systems or similar technical operations.
Ability to learn and apply technical procedures quickly and accurately in real-time conditions.
Capable of distinguishing colors on computer displays (red, blue, white, and green).
Willingness to support a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
2+ years of experience with electronic, electro-mechanical, or software systems.
Prior experience supporting space or satellite mission operations.
Strong troubleshooting and prioritization skills under time-sensitive conditions.
Familiarity with JIRA, technical documentation, and root cause analysis processes.
Military or defense operations background highly preferred.
Salary range: $60K+, commensurate with experience.
