A national defense technology company is seeking a Software Engineer – Mission Systems to support real-time software operations, baseline integration, and maintenance of mission-critical applications. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, hands-on software experience, and the ability to troubleshoot and restore system functionality in a fast-paced operational environment.
Diagnose and resolve software application issues impacting live mission systems.
Support integration, testing, and deployment of new software baselines and system builds.
Analyze and isolate software defects, performance issues, and unexpected behavior.
Perform in-depth end-to-end assessments to ensure system stability and compliance.
Document troubleshooting actions, updates, and system configurations.
Collaborate with development, test, and O&M teams to enhance software reliability and performance.
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph (transferable).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field.
8+ years of experience in software engineering, integration, or maintenance.
Proficiency with Java or C++ development.
Experience supporting software integration or operational environments.
Strong understanding of software lifecycle processes and system testing.
Experience with Linux/Unix, SQL, and version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Agile workflows.
Background in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts supporting real-time software.
Knowledge of configuration management and CI/CD environments.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Total compensation package: $180K–$221K, depending on experience.
