Summary: Performs non destructive tests (NDT) on aerospace components and assemblies. Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, and penetrant inspection methods. Requires certifications in non destructive testing in accordance with regulations. Radiographic techniques include film, computed radiography, and computed tomography.
Responsibilities: Operate high and low energy X radiation equipment, operate automated film processor, computed radiography scanner, and computed tomography equipment and computers Operate ultrasonic flaw detector, working with pulse echo and angle beam inspections.
