Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This candidate will support our E 2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. This role will be located on site in Saint Augustine, Florida. This role is for a hands on person with great attention to detail, top focus on quality and the ability to interface with multiple teams. Essential Functions: Read and understand blueprints Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures Performing part fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends Assemble and install hydraulic systems. Assemble and install fuel lines and electrical harnesses. Usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems. Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness. Adhere to all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines and regulations Work and communicate over ambient noise Work in a variety of work spaces/positions. Work spaces may include but are not limited to small, enclosed spaces, awkward, and elevated spaces. Positions may include bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, ascending/descending ladders, and/or working overhead.
