We are looking for a Composites Stress Engineer / Structural Analyst to work at our Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) division, located in Jacksonville, Florida. You will be supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and Research and Development (R&D) projects. You will have an opportunity to work hands on with the fabrication process for new composite & polymer products. You will be part of a team that is developing and manufacturing advanced, high performance composites in marine applications for surface ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy. Position is onsite at Blount Island in Jacksonville, FL.

The submarine and surface ships within this video highlight the products we have designed and now build in Jacksonville. https://www.collinsaerospace.com/what we do/industries/military and defense/submarines and surface ships What You Will Do: Perform strength, fatigue, and fracture analyses of composite structures Construct and analyze finite element structural models using ABAQUS CAE software Perform preliminary sizing and detailed analysis of major structural components using classical hand analysis and FEA methods in support of preliminary design effort and formal drawing release Assist with preliminary design trade studies Prepare high quality detailed stress reports for customer review and approval Review drawings with other company disciplines and provide structures input Be responsible and accountable for all assigned stress tasks and their completion dates Ensure compliance to established engineering methodologies Communicate and make technical presentations to internal and external customers Collaborate with engineering design team to support rapid design cycles Conduct peer reviews of structural analysis work performed by other stress engineers or outside contractors As needed, interface with the customers to ensure product sure productrequirements and structural analysis expectations are being met

Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security
