Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Engineer Material Processe s to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA, supporting the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE) organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. The candidate will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions. The candidate will work in a team environment with other engineering organization performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications and manufacturing plans. Basic

experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering

experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering

experience. Familiar with composite wet layups, pre pregs, vacuum bagging, OOA/Oven/ Autoclave), honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Composite part fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite and metallic structures.
