Job description: Arrona Tech is seeking a motivated, mission focused Voice and Video Engineer to support the SOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services 2 (SCITES 2) contract in Doral, FL, within the Miami area. This is a full time W2, onsite role supporting a secure Department of Defense mission environment. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
The Voice and Video Engineer will support enterprise voice and video communications engineering, modernization, sustainment, and optimization efforts. This role is focused on designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing complex voice and video communication solutions that enable reliable organizational communication across a secure DoD environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience engineering and supporting VoIP systems, video conferencing platforms, unified communications solutions, IP phones, video conferencing endpoints, gateways, call control systems, LAN/WAN, QoS, and security protocols. The candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting complex voice and video issues, developing architecture diagrams and technical specifications, monitoring system performance, conducting root cause analysis, and working with network, cybersecurity, operations, and mission stakeholders to maintain stable, secure, and mission ready communications services.
Experience supporting a DoD Combatant Command or Service Component is strongly preferred. Prior experience supporting SOUTHCOM or SCITES is highly preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and maintain complex voice and video communication solutions, ensuring seamless and effective organizational communication.
- Engineer scalable, reliable, and secure voice and video solutions to meet mission and business requirements.
- Provides technical leadership, Develop communication strategies and integrate voice and video solutions into the overall communications and network environment.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and support voice and video equipment, including IP phones, video conferencing endpoints, gateways, and call control systems.
- Support VoIP, video conferencing, unified communications platforms, and related network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain architectural diagrams, technical specifications, knowledge base articles, and other engineering documentation.
- Evaluate and recommend new voice, video, and unified communications technologies.
- Lead implementation and deployment of new systems and collaborate with other IT staff to ensure seamless integration.
- Monitor system performance, analyze usage, implement security measures, and provide expert technical support.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and support resolution of complex operational issues.
- Take direction from the DoDIN Operations Lead and provide guidance to subordinate team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Four years of additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Eight or more years of professional experience.
- Five or more years of relevant Voice and Video Engineer experience.
- Expertise configuring and troubleshooting voice and video equipment, including IP phones, video conferencing endpoints, gateways, and call control systems.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, QoS, and security protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of voice and video communication technologies, protocols, and standards, including VoIP, SIP, H.323, and WebRTC.
- Extensive experience with VoIP systems, video conferencing platforms, and unified communications solutions.
- 8570 Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) certification.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer support skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Doral, FL.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Knowledge of emerging voice and video technologies, including cloud-based solutions and AI-powered video analytics.
- Experience with network automation and orchestration for voice and video systems.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration, Avaya Certified Expert (ACE), Unified Communications, or Microsoft Certified Teams Administrator Associate certification.
- Experience working within a DoD Combatant Command, such as SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM, or a Service Component.
- Prior SOUTHCOM or SCITES experience.
- Working knowledge of technologies such as Land Mobile Radio, SATCOM, cabling, site surveys, inside and outside plant, and point to point communications.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and related equipment.
