Peraton requires a Network Engineer to support the Special Operations Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located at Kadena, Japan.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end-user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Testing and analyzing elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network.
- Planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network.
- Monitoring and controling the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
- Providing guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.
- Providing comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
- Interfacing with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.
- Comprehensively reviewing existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
- Establishing systems engineering with a focus on the end-to-end functionality of complex systems
- Performing disaster recovery and backup/restore.
- Supporting efforts for network cybersecurity technology, risks identification and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity, and A&A support documentation in accordance with applicable DoD and IC directives.
- Maintaining LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems, advanced engineering, and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
- Maintaining network security infrastructure including but not limited to: Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Firepower, and ISE.
- Maintaining data center network infrastructure including but not limited to ACI
- Providing support with Wireless networking, Application delivery networking, Cloud computing, Mobile computing, End Point management, and desktop computing.
- Providing Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) or other NSA Capabilities Package.
- Engineering enterprise data, voice, and video networks.
- Establishing and operating network test facilities.
- Maintaining a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks.
- Working with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management.
- Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers.
- Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.
