Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer to join our high-impact Cyber Missions team in Laurel, MD.In this role, you will help safeguard critical national-security systems while working alongside some of the most talented cyber professionals in the industry. If you’re passionate about defending complex environments, solving mission-driven challenges, and shaping the future of cyber resilience, we want to hear from you.What You’ll DoAs a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer, you will:Monitor, analyze, and detect cyber eventsacross enterprise systems and networks, identifying threats and vulnerabilities under general supervision.Support integrated, dynamic cyber defense operations, maintaining and coordinating security toolsets that enable continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.Develop frameworks to measure and quantify cyber risk, helping organizations understand their security posture in real-world, mission-focused terms.Determine security requirementsby evaluating business needs, researching standards, conducting system and vulnerability assessments, analyzing architectures, identifying integration issues, and preparing cost estimates.Implement advanced security systems, including intrusion detection methodologies, hardware/software installation and calibration, key management, technical support, and documentation.Verify and validate security solutionsby developing and executing test scripts to ensure system integrity.Strengthen enterprise security postureby monitoring compliance with policies and standards, conducting incident response analysis, and developing and delivering security training programs.Design, develop, integrate, and implement DoD IA architecturesacross computing, network, and enclave environments.Ensure secure, mission-ready system architectures, including program-of-record systems and specialized processing nodes requiring platform IT interconnectivity.Why PeratonAt Peraton, we don’t just provide services-we protect what matters most. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications Required:Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is requiredBachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.Five (5) years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.TS/SCI with polyExperience providing:Technical direction for the developmentEngineering, interfacing, integration and testing of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting system requirements reviewsDeveloping concepts of operation and interface standardsDeveloping system architecturesPerforming technical/nontechnical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysisDeveloping system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems.Developing technical documentation for issues and/or training
