Responsibilities
The Opportunity:Peraton is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA to assist with the client’s complex infrastructure, with expertise spanning multiple critical domains, including custom cross-domain architecture. Your work will focus on designing, engineering and implementation of complex mission networks.Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the intricacies and interdependencies within these systems, enabling informed decision-making and providing strategic guidanceSpend a significant amount of time dedicated towards assisting improving reliability in each of the systems and researching root-cause of Tier 2 related ticketsFoster collaborative partnerships across functional teams and identify opportunities to build efficiencies into innovative IT systems that support the cyber mission systemsRequired to participate in the 24/7 duty phone rotation - estimated at 3x per year
Qualifications
RequiredMinimum of 12 years with BS/BA in a relevant technical discipline; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with PhDActive Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph5 years in Network Engineering (LAN/WAN, Communications, Computer Systems, Cross Domain), Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experienceStrong background in CI/CD in relationship to Cross Domain Solutions and general software developmentSound judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills with an ability to adapt to emerging issues and changing priorities under short deadlinesDemonstrated ability to learn quickly and stay abreast of leading-edge technologiesExperience with network security technologies, such as:o Firewalls (configuration, rule management)o Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)o Secure network architecture designo Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN), and devices (routers, switches, firewalls)DesiredExperience with both on-premise and cloud deployment technologies and automationDetailed oriented, organized, able to multitask, and adaptable to shifting requirementsFlexibility - works well both independently and as a team player; must be eager to learnCandidate should be a self-starter and possess a willingness to dive into new technologies when appropriateExperience implementing and documenting standard operating procedures of systems or networks (e.g., Linux, Window, Cloud platforms etc.)
