Northrop GrummanSpaceSystemshas an opening for aStaff Systems Engineerto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Huntsville, AL campus.
The successful candidate will design and develop system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements. They will define design and technology maturity constraints of the systemin accordance withcustomer specifications, develop thorough definition of system external interfaces, and define system implementation approaches and operational concepts to ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.
Essential functions include:
Assistin development of systemarchitecture for the GWS network and infrastructure team
Architecture,planning,and use case developmentusingsystems engineering methodologies.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Perform system requirements analysisas they pertain to the GWS contract.
- Automation workflow development of multi-disciplined functional processes in support of various engineering and business processes.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of relevant experience; 10 years of relevant experience with aMaster'sdegree; 8 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearanceat time of application
Experience using Jira/Confluence to collaborateregardingtasking and workinstructions inside a team
Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations to internal and external leadership
Experience working collaboratively on complex projects that encompass hardware, software, and firmware
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstratedleadershipof junior staff and the ability to influence decisions in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Agile Developmentand leadership experience working within Agile Scrum frameworks
Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and secure DevSecOps practices
Experience with ground communications systemsandknowledgeofGMD and GWS products and services
Experience working with Network and Infrastructuretechnologies such as Cisco or Juniper
Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)
Strong oral and written communication skills, includingdemonstratedexperience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain anddifficult situations
