BAE Systems is looking for a qualified Systems Engineer to join our Mk21A Reentry Vehicle team. In this role, you will support defense acquisition and deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter at Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). As a key member of the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) IPT, your primary focus will be ensuring the Nuclear Surety of the Mk21A reentry vehicle.
We're seeking a Systems Engineer with a strong foundation in system engineering principles and processes and direct experience in nuclear surety. In this role, you will apply nuclear surety standards to critically evaluate contractor designs and deliver rigorous technical reviews of program deliverables (CDRLs). Additionally, experience with Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) and Model-Based Systems Engineering is highly desirable. Ultimately, this position prioritizes technical excellence and advanced analysis to deliver mission-critical solutions in direct support of our government customer.

Additional responsibilities include providing weapon system expertise to conduct integrated, engineering-level assessments across the entire program life cycle-from design and production through to verification and maintenance. In this role, you will actively identify and mitigate design, production, and test deficiencies to ensure successful development and mission success.

Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status. This position is only located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, due to the special-access classified working environment and is not conducive to regular “telework” or remote schedules.

B.S. degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics.
At least 3 years of progressive technical experience in systems engineering or aerospace/defense.
Experience with nuclear surety policies, standards, and technical measures.
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools such as Cameo to develop, trace, and manage system architectures and requirements.
Experience with ICBM systems, DOD acquisition processes, and systems engineering frameworks.
Must possess and maintain a US DOD Security Clearance.
Experience implementing Parts, Materials, and Processes (PM&P) selection, qualification, and control procedures.
Experience reviewing and delivering technical critiques of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) deliveries.
Experience with the Air Force Nuclear Certification Process and nuclear weapon system safety assessments.
Excellent cognitive communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills, briefing and providing reports to executive-level leaders.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
