Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) accreditation and/or access process as well as experience performing a full range of intelligence-related personnel, information, and/or industrial security administrative tasks such as: working with an information security process to prevent the compromise or loss of classified information or material; assisting with the administration of programs for security evaluation of personnel; and advising on requirements of an industrial security program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-11). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
