Lockheed Martin Space’s Ignite Edge Processing & Electronics organization identifies, develops, and transitions next generation edge processing and electronic technologies across the space enterprise.  The group works with industry, acedemia, and customers to develop and transition these emerging technolgies to provide new and advance capabilities to Lockeed Martin missions.  We are hiring a Senior Program Manager to lead a team of Program Managers responsible for the development of next generation edge processing & electronics technologies and products. This role manages the successful program execution across a portfolio of space programs, drives customer engagement, and oversees staffing and resource allocation to meet program and mission objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Execution Leadership:  Direct and mentor a team of program managers to deliver next generation edge processing and electronics programs on schedule, within budget, and to required performance standards.  
• Customer Engagement:  Support Program managers and serve as liaison with key customers, understanding their needs, aligning program objectives, and communicating status, risks, and mitigation strategies. Conduct regular briefings, reviews, and technical exchange meetings to ensure customer satisfaction and identify new business opportunities.
• Staffing & Resource Management:  Define staffing requirements, assign program managers and work with Engineering and Technology to staff technical resources to meet program demands. Coordinate with talent acquisition, HR, and functional leaders to secure required expertise and maintain optimal team composition.
• Financial & Risk Oversight:  Work with program managers to ensure executable program budgets, forecast financial performance, and ensure cost‑effectiveness. Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, schedule, and program risks; implement corrective actions and escalation procedures as needed.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration:  Work closely with engineering, systems, test, supply chain, and operations teams to drive integrated product development. Facilitate communication and alignment across internal stakeholders and external partners.

Standard Job Description:  Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
• ≥15 years of program management experience in hardware‑centric, edge‑computing, or electronics product development
• Strong understanding of edge processing architectures, embedded systems, power electronics, RF/analog design, and related industry standards
• Ability to obtain & maintain a TS/SCI w/Poly clearance

Desired Skills

• >10yrs Experience developing space qualifed edge processing and electronics technologies and products
• Experience managing senior‑level customer relationships, including contract negotiations and technical reviews
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Active TS/SCI w/Poly Clearance
