Position
Summary Base-2 Solutions is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to join a high-energy team supporting the DIA-NMEC DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP). This role involves building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack as part of a 10-year program modernizing the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P). The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver mission-critical capabilities. Essential
Duties and
- Design, deploy, and maintain a full-stack, containerized microservices architecture.
- Support systems administration, installation, and configuration.
- Promote adoption of DevOps best practices across cross-functional engineering teams.
- Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.
- Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving
- Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
- Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities. Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent
- Strong Linux proficiency.
- Hands-on
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Development
- Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
- Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).
- Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with GPU-based Kubernetes.
- Experience with SALT for deployment automation.
- Experience with Helm / Helmfile.
