Responsibilities Peraton is seeking aProject Control Specialistto join our team of diverse, qualified individuals.The Program Management Analyst works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS.  The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.Our  Project Control Specialistoversees and coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing projects and performs project management and planning in coordination with project team and line management.Specific tasks include:Review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reportsAssesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectivesDevelops mechanisms for monitoring project progress, for intervention, and problem solving with project managers, line manager, and customer goalsTracks and reports the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between management and project planning effortsReviews status of projects, manages schedules, and prepares status reportsAssesses project issues and provides information to responsible parties to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectivesDevelops mechanisms for monitoring project progress including milestones within a projected time lineNotifies appropriate personnel when time line issues occur. Extensive experience with Microsoft Project software is requiredExtensive contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contractsConducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operationsPerforms other related tasks as assigned Qualifications Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience, master's degree with 3 years experience or high school diploma with 9+ years experience.U.S Citizenship; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.Must have experience in project management and planningMust have the ability to balance and prioritize numerous deadlinesMust demonstrate appropriate People Leadership CharacteristicsCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,  ProjectPreferred Qualifications:Experience with government contractsPrior experience in a Union environmentLean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or trainingPhysical Requirements:Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objectsPhysical activity may include forklift, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motionHave visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment and to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures
