The Production Operations Quality team is responsible for ensuring quality, compliance, and execution across the Space Business Area. We work across programs, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and sustainment to make sure our products and processes meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements throughout the full lifecycle of our contracts.

The Work

As the Production Operations Quality Director, you will lead all aspects of Production Quality Assurance for the Space Business Area. You will be responsible for integrating Quality Management system requirements across the business, including product quality, receiving inspection, risk management, workforce planning and customer requirements. You will ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable customer and regulatory requirements, while driving continuous improvement and alignment with business and program objectives. This role will partner closely with Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Production Operations, Sustainment, Engineering, Programs and DCMA to identify and mitigate risk, improve performance and ensure success program execution.

Who You Are

You are an experienced Quality leader who can operate strategically while remaining connected to program and manufacturing execution. You have a strong understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, aerospace/defense quality, and customer requirements.
You are comfortable leading through influence, building strong cross-functional relationships, and working with senior leaders, engineering, operations, supply chain, program teams, and government customers. You bring strong Full Spectrum Leadership skills, understand how to identify and mitigate risk, and can build an organization capable of consistently delivering quality products and meeting customer commitments. You are accountable for integration of Quality Management System performance elements throughout the business including deriving requirements, supply chain quality, product quality, program impact and execution alignment, mitigation of risk, and workforce planning throughout the full lifecycle of contract execution. You will proactively work to ensure Space programs are supported by the quality functional infrastructure providing clarity, alignment and movement toward performance goals and project milestones. You have primary responsibility for maintaining compliance to AS9100/ISO9001and other certification(s) as required for sites under your leadership. You must work proactively to ensure product quality stays compliant to the associated Quality Management System (QMS) and all Customer Quality requirements. You must demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership attributes and establish effective relationships across Space Safety and Quality, Supply Chain, Production Operations, Sustainment, Engineering, Programs and DCMA.

Basic Qualifications

To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations management, with at least two prior senior manager leadership roles.
Expertise in program/project planning and management of cost, schedule, risk and resources in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Domonstrated srong knowledge of industry standards, Quality Assurance and DOD requirements.
Ability to work and lead teams in a virtual/matrixed environment.
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and drive change.
Ability to optimize Operations as unit of action, as a role model in leveraging the defined enablers, and avoiding the barriers.
Must currently posses a Secret and be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

Experienced in maintaining AS9100-certified Quality Management Systems.
Knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma Techniques Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Knowledge and application of Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Readiness processes (e.g. FAI, APQP, Concurrent Enterprise, Producibility).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to think strategically and creatively, and to seek out and learn from unfamiliar experiences.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $180000.00 - $325000.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
