Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking aNetwork Monitoring Engineerto join our dynamic team in Washington D.C.Peraton has served as the prime contractor for this program since its inception in the 1980's. We provide high-level government leaders with reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment in support of day-to-day operations. We support a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications allowing complex national and worldwide communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and engineering support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.Day to Day Work Responsibilities:Provide services to establish enterprise event monitoring and management, performance monitoring, and analysis services.Provide centralized operations, monitoring, reporting, management, and analysis of enterprise applications, systems, and core services.Support operational management functions ensuring alignment with event, incident, problem, and change management frameworks.Oversee incident detection, escalation, and resolution processes, ensuring rapid response and minimal service disruption.Manage and optimize operational workflows, including Event, Incident, Problem, and Change Management, aligned with ITIL best practices.Provide workforce education and mentoring to maintain the IT operations, IT System Administration, and Network Engineering culture across programs.Develop and maintain network and system dashboards for real-time operational metrics to support enterprise decision-making.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is requiredBA/BS in IT (or similar technical field) and eight (8+) years relevant experience; Masters and 6+ years; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degreeA current/valid IAT LVL II CertificationExpert on network monitoring at enterprise level to include WAN, LAN, hardware and applicationsPrior experience leading people, projects, or teamsUnderstanding of classified IT system architectures and multi-site connectionsExperience with SolarWinds design, deployment and maintenanceExperience leading and managing IT requirements and executing project management schedules through completionDemonstrated ability to work seamlessly across organization boundariesAbility to coordinate with other sites, business areas, programs and functional areas to coordinate daily operations as well as program coordination and adoptionDesired Qualifications:Experience leading IT operations in DoD environmentsDemonstrated ability to drive process improvement, security automation, and operational resilienceExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skillsPrevious experience working in dynamic large scale DoD IT environmentsExperience in identifying and implementing process improvements efficienciesExcellent teamwork, collaboration, and proactive interactionsAbility to operate in high-tempo, mission-driven environments supporting national securityBenefits:Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligibility to participate in an attractive bonus plan.
