Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3 - IPT Lead to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.

Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance at the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
The selected candidate will lead the consolidated Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Integrated Product Team (IPT) for a comprehensive system, integrating Mission Systems Engineering (MSE), Space Vehicle Systems Engineering (SVSE), and Payload Systems Engineering (PLSE). This individual will serve as the accountable leader for integrated systems engineering execution, including technical baseline integration, requirements and interface management, verification and validation, and cross-element technical closure from system definition through delivery. The selected candidate will partner with the Chief Engineer and element leads to implement system-level technical decisions and ensure disciplined, coordinated execution across the program lifecycle.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Lead and develop a high-performing SEIT IPT, establishing integrated systems engineering priorities, execution cadence, technical ownership, and accountability.
-Provide system-level leadership and oversight across MSE, SVSE, and PLSE including specialty engineering functions through the program lifecycle.
-Ensure system requirements are decomposed, allocated, traced, and verified at the appropriate levels.
-Oversee external and inter-element technical interfaces, ensuring leads establish definitions, controls, and closure plans.
-Lead execution of system-level verification and validation planning, readiness, evidence integration, and closure, ensuring compliance with customer and program requirements.
-Communicate the IPT’s status, risks, decisions, and recommended actions to program leadership and customers.
Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineering Manager 3 - IPT Lead:
-Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR
-Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience OR
-PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience
-Candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application and prior to start date as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate’s maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
-Extensive systems engineering experience, including technical leadership on complex space, satellite, payload, or mission-system development efforts.
-Demonstrated experience managing system requirements, technical baselines, interfaces, and verification and validation activities.
-Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and resolving complex technical issues across multiple system elements.
Preferred Qualifications for Systems Engineering Manager 3 - IPT Lead:
-Bachelor’s Degree or above in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline.
-Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) clearance along with active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Experience leading a Systems Engineering IPT, SEIT, or comparable system-level technical integration organization.
-Experience with complex space systems, spacecraft, payloads, satellite constellations, or mission systems.
-Experience leading customer interchanges and major design or readiness reviews.
-Experience with model-based systems engineering and digital engineering.
