Driver Operator, Firefighter (FN)
TheDriverOperator, Firefighter will beprimarilybased at Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC) in Baghdad, Iraq, and serve the Base Life Support Services contract in support of the State Department.The DriverOperatorwillberesponsible for utilizingresourcesto accomplishoperationalrequirements andwillreportto theirassignedCrewChief, AssistantSiteChief and/or the Site Chief.Theadditionaldutiesand responsibilitieslistedbelow are representative of the natureand level of workassigned and are notnecessarilyallinclusive:
DUTIES:
- Responsible for maintaining a safeworkplace and ensuring thatsafety is thehighestpriority in the workplace.
- Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and QualityAssurancerequirementsand goals. Provideinformation and materials to thesedivisionsasnecessary to ensureadequate and legal documentation.
- Serve as a Driver/OperatorforStructural FireFighterand HAZMATresponder on a scheduled rotation.
- Participate in Fire and EmergencyServicesactivitiesincludingfiresuppression,EMS,rescue,publicassistance,fireinvestigation,fireprevention,pre-fireplanning,FireCompanytraining,publiceducation,clinical training and routinemaintenanceofapparatus,equipment and facilities.
- SupportEmergencyManagement functions as needed.
- Assist in activities within the department and collaborate with other departments to support operational needs, ensure effective communication, and contribute to overall mission success.
- Performadditionaldutiesand projectsassigned.

REQUIRED:
- MinimumAcceptableExperienceLevel:Onetofive(1-5) or more years of Driver / Operator - FireFighterexperience.

- Language Skills:Expert comprehension of bothoral and written Englishcommunicationskills to present,facilitate,and disseminateinformation.

DESIRED:
- Two (2)years’internationalexperience in challenging locations,preferablyworking in theMiddleEast, with a working knowledge of customsand cultural differences.

WORKINGAND LIVINGCONDITIONS:
Thispositionmaybein an environment with harshand dangerousworking and living conditions.Whileperforming the duties of thisjob,theemployee may regularlybeexposedtoextremeand austeredesert-likeenvironment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130degreesFahrenheit/50- 55 degreesCelsiusduring thesummermonths.Employeesmustbewilling and able to performregular job requirements in thisaustere,extremeenvironment, as well as willing and abletodeploy to Iraq for extendedperiods.Workschedules are a minimum of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.Employeesmustbewilling and abletoperformphysicalactivitiesincluding,butnotlimitedto,heavylifting and moving of items,parts,assemblies,andequipmentup to thesafetyregulationmaximum;climbing in and out of equipment;crawling; and workingoutdoors.Thisincludesbeing abletoliftand carry 40 pounds of personalprotectiveequipment for extendedperiods of timeand being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’during emergencieswithoutputting oneself or others at risk.
