Customer Engagement: Serve as a primary technical liaison between the customer and Evlos technical teams, managing expectations, communicating technical roadmaps, and translating mission-specific data requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
Operational Leadership: Help lead the daily operations of the DataOps team with a focus on accelerating data availability, improving reliability, and minimizing the time between initial data identification and production availability.
Systems Engineering: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of data flows using standardized templates, shared libraries, and engineering best practices.
Platform Reliability: Monitor platform and pipeline performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve availability, stability, and operational efficiency.
Performance Tuning: Lead cluster performance tuning and pipeline monitoring to maintain data health and minimize data discovery latency.
Automation & Optimization: Drive the technical evolution of the data platform from reactive maintenance toward proactive monitoring, automation, and adaptive operations.
Data Pipeline Management: Ensure mission-critical data pipelines are scalable, reliable, documented, and aligned with customer requirements.
Ecosystem Coordination: Facilitate technical collaboration across teams to ensure successful scripts, flow strategies, automation, and engineering practices can be reused across the broader environment.
Quality Governance: Develop and implement automated quality gates, schema validation, and other controls to maintain data integrity before data reaches production environments.
Technical Troubleshooting: Lead the decomposition and resolution of complex technical problems involving systemic data flow issues across distributed messaging, orchestration, and cloud environments.
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to technical team members while promoting consistent engineering standards and operational best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, increase automation, improve platform resiliency, and accelerate delivery of mission-critical data.

9+ years of relevant experience in technical operations, systems engineering, data management, or a related discipline with a Bachelor’s degree; OR
7+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; OR
High School Diploma or equivalent with 13+ years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience managing high-volume data flows and storage solutions, including distributed messaging, data orchestration, and cloud-native storage technologies.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and complex data ecosystems.
Experience with enterprise observability, monitoring, and log-analysis platforms used to evaluate system health, troubleshoot issues, and minimize data discovery latency.
Strong understanding of network data, metadata, data quality, and structured and semi-structured log formats, including JSON and XML.
Experience managing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes supporting rapid data availability and analytics.
Experience using SQL for data validation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with technical teams and customers.
Experience using scripting or programming languages such as Python or Java to automate repetitive processes, develop shared capabilities, and improve operational efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex data pipeline and distributed-system issues.
Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to translate customer mission requirements into actionable technical specifications and engineering priorities.
Must obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week on-site in San Antonio, TX, with flexibility to accommodate changes in customer or mission schedules.
Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance.
Previous experience in a technical account management, customer success engineering, or other customer-facing technical role.
Experience designing, supporting, or operating scalable distributed data-processing architectures.
Experience with cloud-native data storage solutions.
Previous experience supporting cybersecurity, network security, or other mission-critical technical operations.
Knowledge of implementing automated Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), data masking, or similar data governance and access-control capabilities within production pipelines.
Experience leading or mentoring technical teams in complex operational environments.
