Job Description
The Next Generation Glide Body (NXGB) program is seeking motivated, high-potential employees for two Associate PM (APM) positions, one for the IRAD program, and one for the expected Scaled Hypersonics (SHY) Task Area 1 (TA-1) government funded program. The two roles will have different focus areas given the different phases of each program, but in general the roles will similarly assist the PMs with executing successfully.
NXGB began as a multi-year LM IRAD flight demo of an affordable, producible, and advanced intermediate range boost-glide hypersonic vehicle. It is an LM Space Key Investment (KI) and is in the LM Space Top 10 Priority Captures for 2026. The NXGB portfolio is extending beyond the IRAD to include a new SHY CRAD contract with a second flight opportunity, and the program is targeting downstream EMD and Production phases. The IRAD program is approaching CDR and moving into AI&T. The SHY program must incorporate new technology and thus will begin with a follow-on design phase.
What is an APM? The program has historically been led by a PM and a Deputy PM, but with the scaling that is underway, additional support is needed to ensure program operations are effectively maintained while concurrently providing full support to strategic planning, proposal efforts, and customer engagements. Therefore, APM roles are being stood up to assist the PMs with execution of each sub-program within the NXGB portfolio. It can be thought as of the transition between a CAM role and a full PM role. This is a unique opportunity to hone your program management skills alongside senior PMs with extensive experience on a high visibility program. Final decision authority for significant items will remain with the PMs.
