Who You Are:
KBR is seeking a motivated Acquisition Specialist to join our team and provide Systems Engineer Technical Advisor (SETA) support for the Intelligence Community Customer Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED). GED plays a critical role in enabling the Intelligence Community Customer to plan and execute intelligence-gathering missions, transforming collected data into useful information for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) users.
In this role, you will have the chance to design, develop, test, and deliver products that support our customers’ advanced systems. In support of GED Front Office, Chief Architect, Integrated Intelligence Program Office, Advanced Ground Office, and Enterprise Data Applications and Platforms. You'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams focused on hardware, software, system integration, and data analysis to help achieve important missions and meet requirements.
This is a contingent position based upon contract award
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the development and drafting of Statements of Work (SOWs) for system acquisitions under guidance from senior acquisition staff.
Assist in defining proposal evaluation criteria and participate in source selection activities, including reviewing contractor proposals for completeness and compliance.
Help monitor contractor performance across cost, schedule, and technical metrics; support analysis and reporting to leadership.
Contribute to oversight of Task Orders under IDIQ contracts, including tracking deliverables and supporting execution of enterprise software and services programs.
Provide support to the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) by gathering data and preparing inputs on contractor performance.
Assist in translating high-level program needs and Agile epics into basic system requirements and supporting documentation.
Identify program risks and support the development of mitigation strategies under supervision.
Review contractor deliverables (e.g., CDRLs) for format, completeness, and basic technical alignment; escalate issues as needed.
Maintain acquisition documentation, records, and reports to support program execution and compliance.
Collaborate with technical teams, program managers, and contracting personnel to support acquisition planning and execution.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Business, Engineering, Acquisition, or a related field.
Working knowledge of federal or DoD/IC acquisition processes, contract types (e.g., IDIQ), and lifecycle phases.
Working knowledge of systems engineering concepts and software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles.
Exposure to cost, schedule, and performance tracking concepts. Exposure to Agile methodologies or tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
Basic understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) concepts.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to learn and apply policies, compliance requirements, and acquisition regulations.
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with NRO SIGINT or other IC mission domains.
Relevant certifications, such as DAWIA/DAU, PMP or CAPM.
Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or SysML concepts is a plus.
